A highly efficient automated logistics platform outside Barcelona
Fedefarma contracted GSE Spain to build their new automated, temperature-controlled logistics centre near Barcelona. Covering a surface area of 19,400 m², the warehouse can handle more than 130,000 orders a day – an increase of almost 40%, thanks to the automation of more than 30,000 articles.

The building was constructed on several levels: a basement dedicated to shipping, a ground level for receiving goods, and several mezzanines for the offices. Due to the nature of the products, the facility is kept at a constant temperature between 18°C and 25°C. Special attention was paid to the heating and cooling system and to the insulation of the building envelope. The project is certified to the BREEAM Very Good level.
